Having made the decision to join us here, choose from one of these many romantically perfect spots, laden with experiences that will stoke those freshly hot relationship-coals whilst also, rekindling old flames that life has dampened with its necessity.
For that authentic, and completely “Bush” romanticism, nothing has relaxation and decadence written all over it than remoteness of these pods in the hills.
The privacy and isolation of these luxurious glass cabins, completely surrounded by nature, takes you to another world. From the sky to the hills, the sea, the birds, the bush, view the landscape from the comfort of the plush beds or relax in the hot-tub and soak in the canvas of star above.
There are two PurePod’s in Kaikōura, both offering the peace and tranquillity of a relaxed evening and a star-filled night. You can order your breakfast and dinner from PurePod so it’s there, ready-to-go, on arrival. Although you can self-cater and take your own food if you prefer. Just make sure you pack in a bottle of North Canterbury’s pinot gris to enjoy.
Nestled in the Kaikōura flats, this is a B&B to satisfy all your romantic needs. Private hot – tubs with views of the Seaward Ranges and private cottages & serene gardens will offer the peace and tranquillity you need. Located a short drive from the Kaikōura township but feels a million miles away.

It’s just a short walk from the township’s retail centre and main activity and attraction booking centres. Once you have settled and discovered your surroundings, treat yourself to a romantic evening meal overlooking the Pacific Ocean at Hiku Restaurant. Hiku offers delicious, relaxed New Zealand fare inspired by the surrounds and heroes local with seafood, farmed produce, wine and beer sourced from Kaikōura and its surrounds.

Activities
Use Day 2 as your go-to day for couples’ activities around this stunning area; whether its relaxing or exhilarating, there will always be something to do for you both to enjoy.
Start your day with one of our favourite places in Kaikōura; the Peninsula walkway.
Spot NZ fur seals from the cliffs, wander past the endangered Hutton Shearwater sanctuary and keep an eye out for whales and dolphins in the distance.
On a less strenuous note, avail of one of the many massage and treatment options in town. South Pacific Beauty: with his & hers options, will have you looking and feeling amazing, while Natures Rhythm will leave you relaxed on a physical and spiritual level
Spend the rest of the morning lazily meandering through the Kaikōura township, exploring the many beautiful homeware and clothing shops before stopping in for lunch at one or more of our cosy cafes to share a treat. Take the time to seek out handmade ice cream at Poppy's to enjoy whilst you stroll along the pebbled Esplanade beach.
For the afternoon you can’t beat getting whisked away in a helicopter for an unforgettable heli-picnic at secluded and exclusive alpine landing sites nestled in the Kaikōura ranges. Enjoy locally prepared and organic picnic hampers while surrounded by breath-taking 360-degree views of the Kaikōura mountain ranges and Pacific Ocean.

To complete your day, put that cherry on top of your getaway with a delightful sunset tour on the south side of the Peninsula. For those of you who enjoy an all-inclusive experience, treat yourself and your partner to a stay at Hapuku Lodge for a real taste of luxury. Nestled 30 feet in the air, the tree houses sit amongst a native Kanuka Grove underneath the majestic Kaikōura Mountains. Wraparound windows ensure neck-swivelling views of mountains, sea and roaming deer from the spa bath, seating nook (complete with wood fire) and deck.
Make your way down to the lodge’s open-plan dining room that has a relaxed alpine feel. Dine by the double-sided fireplace during the cooler months or eat in the garden in summer. Chef Fiona Read was a finalist on MasterChef 2011, so expect ambitious dishes, featuring Hapuku Farm organic greens and oven-roasted Kaikoura crayfish.
